The Canterbury Tales
The John Ford Society of Exeter College, Oxford put on this adaptation of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales by Professor Nevill Coghill in October 1964 at the Oxford Playhouse to celebrate the 650th anniversary of the founding of the college.
The production had a troubled opening with the first night finishing at 1120pm! Overnight, the student cast cut and re-shaped the show to a more manageable length.
